How many children

If most of the guests are 3 years old, we can take up to 15 children.
If most of the guests are 4 years old, we can take up to 24 children.
If most of the guests are 5 or older, we can take up to 30 children.
Want more than that? No problem, we just add a second helper for £40 so every child still gets looked after properly.

Booking your party

We ask for the full amount to secure your date. Once that's paid, the date is yours.

How a 2 hour party runs

  1. Arrival

    15 minutes

    Free play with balls and hoops while everyone arrives. If you bring name stickers, our coach will hand them out and start getting to know the children as they come in. By the time we start, we know every child's first name.

  2. Part one, games

    45 minutes

    High-energy running games, no balls involved. Firm favourites are the Pizza Game and Cat and Mouse.

  3. Break

    20 to 30 minutes

    Food, cake and a breather. This is when you serve the party food.

  4. Part two, ball games

    30 to 40 minutes

    Back up on their feet for the ball games: Pirates of the Caribbean, Toilet Tag, Disco Tag. We usually finish with a few rounds of dodgeball, which never fails.

  3. Food, drink and cake

    At the end

    Food, drink and cake at the end before everyone heads home.

Door to door it's around 1 hour 45 minutes.

The games they'll be asking for by name

The Pizza Game

Children run around a big circle of mats and on the command have to find a mat to stand on. Anyone left without one becomes a topping on our pizza, and they get to choose what they are. They usually go for toilets or spiders, to the enormous amusement of everyone else. We keep going until there are only a few left in.

Cat and Mouse

Everyone wears rugby tag belts with tails. The coach is the cat and tries to steal the tails. Lose your tail and you have to chase the coach down and steal it back.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Children have to sail across to the other side of the ocean while the pirates at the side fire cannonballs at them. Get hit and you become a pirate and start catching the sailors.

Toilet Tag

Get hit by the loo roll and you have to freeze, stick your arm up and shout "help, I'm stuck on the toilet". Another child frees you by pushing your arm down to flush the chain. It's as funny as it sounds. We swap the theme too, so in Disco Tag you get hit by the disco ball, freeze mid-dance, and you're only freed when another child copies your move.

Where to hold it

You're very welcome to use your own venue, as long as the space is at least the size of a badminton court, roughly 20ft by 44ft (6m by 13.5m). If you haven't got somewhere in mind, here are halls that work well and are popular with other Mad4Sports families.

These are suggestions, not our venues. You book the hall directly, and it's worth checking details and availability with them as things do change.

Party FAQs

Yes, the hall is booked by you directly. Use your own space if it's at least badminton-court size, or pick from our list of local halls above.

Up to 15 if most are 3 years old, up to 24 if most are 4, up to 30 if most are 5 or older. More than that is fine with an additional helper for £40.

There's no deposit. We ask for the full amount to secure your date.

You do. We build a 20 to 30 minute break into the 2 hour party for food and cake, and for 1 hour parties food comes at the end.

Just food, drink, cake and name stickers if you'd like them. We bring all the equipment.
